Heidi and Erik love the desert. They developed Star Dune Ranch as a way for others to experience the Hi Desert while still having all the creature comforts. Speaking of creatures; Desert Iguana, Quail, Ground Squirrels, Falcons, Hawks, Turkey Vultures and even Road Runners kind of run the place–but don’t worry they pretty much keep to themselves!
Star Dune Ranch sits on just over 3.5 acres of lightly developed land and strives to bring amenities to the wilds of the desert including a shade area with cowboy plunge pool, fire pit, swings; full kitchen with island, full size natural gas stove, full size refrigerator with filtered ice and water; fire place, 55 inch TV, fast WiFi and of course heating & air conditioning.
Located less than 6 minutes from an amazing free hiking opportunity called 49 Palms, the Oasis Visitors Center, Tortoise Rock Casino and some great places to shop, eat and hang out. And just a ten minute drive to Joshua Tree National Park North Entrance (the preferred entrance). There are plenty of things to do locally!
Even if you just want to sit under the stars and relax with your favorite beverage–you can do that from either the firepit or the cowboy plunge pool.
If you’re looking to explore a bit further away, the town of Joshua Tree has some cute and eccentric shops, dining experiences and activities as well as Pioneer Town with Pappy and Harriet’s for food and live music and there is even a sound bath experience at The Integratron in nearby Landers.
If you’re booking for longer than a weekend you may want to plan a day-trip to Palm Springs (shopping, museums and dining), the The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens in Palm Desert (and feed a Giraffe) and Cabazon Outlets & Desert Hills Premium Outlets aren’t too far either.
If you need to get a few things done before slipping into a refreshing cowboy plunge pool, Star Dune Ranch offers up to 400 Mbps WiFi and a spacious kitchen island to work from–but we advise that you wrap up your work obligations before arriving. 😉
